17-year-old charged for killing of St James teen, Shanique Rose 

Police have charged a 17-year-old boy for the death of Shanique Rose, the 16-year-old girl, who was shot and killed on Friday, April 7 while heading home from a party in the parish of St James.

The accused juvenile, who was charged on Thursday, April 20 is expected to make his first court appearance next week.

Initial reports were that Rose, a 10th grade student, was travelling on a minibus with a group of other children. Members of the group were returning from a party when a motorist got into an argument with the driver of the bus and opened fire into the bus hitting Rose.

However, fresh details has surfaced that the schoolgirl was shot by someone who was aboard the bus. The perpetrator it is reported  fled the scene after the incident.
