Black Chiney for Strictly 2K next week

Dancehall mixtape kingpins Black Chiney has been added to the line-up for next week’s staging of Strictly 2K: Best of the 2000s.

“There is absolutely no doubt that Black Chiney helped to propel dancehall music to an international level, and we are very pleased to host their return to the island after so many years of not playing here,” IB Konteh said.

Konteh, who is the communication director at Jamrock Entertainment Management (JEM), said that Black Chiney is one of the greatest sounds of the 2000s.

Strictly 2K, which had its debut in December 2016, is slated for Friday, May 26, at the National Stadium in Kingston. The event is organised by ZJ Chrome and JEM.

“The beauty about a good sound and a good DJ is that they have the ability to take their audience with them on a musical journey through time. Black Chiney set a particular bar for juggling on mixtapes and at events.

They are so versatile that they can create the same fire alongside a Drake, Eminem or Bruno Mars; all of whom they have won Grammy’s with. I am excited to see what they will do on a Strictly 2K stage and I am sure the fans are too,” Chrome said.
