Blizzard forces cancellation of Caribbean Airlines NY flights

PIARCO, Trinidad and Tobago — Caribbean Airlines (CAL) today announced that it has cancelled, delayed or consolidated a number of its flights to and from the John F Kennedy (JFK) Airport in New York for this Monday and Tuesday.

CAL says the changes are due to a major blizzard (Winter Storm Juno), which is forecasted to hit the US Northeast at of noon today.

“We expect the inclement weather to affect the operations at New York’s International Airport,” CAL said in its statement.

The airline said that as a result of the weather developments, it will waive change/cancellation fees and fare differences for customers travelling on Monday January 26 through Tuesday, January 27 to/from New York.

Meanwhile, customers with cancellations or significantly delayed flights may opt for a refund, but CAL noted that the original travel must have been booked on or before Sunday, January 25.
