One of Clarendon’s most wanted men, Niko Walters, otherwise called ‘Freckles’ or ‘Speckles’,
unemployed of Farm/Effortville in May Pen, was shot and killed during a confrontation with the police on Monday.
A policeman was shot and injured in the incident.
Reports are that during an operation in the Effortville area, Walters was seen and, on the approach of the police, he pulled a firearm and opened fire, hitting a policeman on the left index finger.
The gunfire was returned and Walters was hit.
He was taken to the May Pen Hospital along with the injured policeman, where Walters died while undergoing treatment.
