Fourth murder in St Ann within days 

The St Ann are probing the murder of a 44-year-old man in the Mount Edgecombe community in Runaway Bay on Friday night.

It was the second murder recorded in the parish on Friday and the fourth killing to occur there within an eight-day period.

The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Anthony Gurdon, also known as ‘Indian’, of Mount Edgecombe.

Reports are that about 9:20 p.m., residents heard loud explosions and alerted the police.

Upon their arrival, Gurdon’s body was found slumped over on a chair at his gate.

The police said he was observed with gunshot wounds to his head and other sections of his upper body.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.

Earlier on Friday, 23-year-old Romaine Moulton, otherwise called ‘Rumpy’, was shot and killed and a firearm containing several rounds of ammunition taken from his body on Knibb Street in Watt Town, St Ann.

Reports are that about 1:00 p.m., explosions were heard and a police team was summoned to the area. On arrival of the lawmen, Moulton was seen lying on the roadway with several gunshot wounds.

A 9mm Browning pistol with a magazine containing eleven 9mm rounds of ammunition, was taken from his waistband while the scene was being processed, according to the police.

Moulton, who was from Caledonia and Minard districts in the parish, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Police investigators are probing both homicides.
