Jamaican shot dead in Connecticut, USA

Police in Hartford, Connecticut are investigating the fatal shooting of a Jamaican man who was found lying in the snow during this week’s storm in the United States.

Police said 34-year-old Navian Ebanks was found outside his home at about 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with gunshot wounds to his torso and neck.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, going on record as the city’s first homicide of the year.

The police have not released any information on any suspects or motive for the killing, but said it appears that Ebanks was outside his home when a car pulled up and shots were fired.

The victim had recently moved to the city from Jamaica.

Police officers arrived just two minutes after receiving the call, and are checking to see if there is any surveillance video of the shooting.
