JAMAICA’S FORMER MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE ROGER CLARKE IS DEAD!

KINGSTON, Jamaica– Minister of Agriculture Roger Clarke is dead. People’s National Party colleagues confirmed Clarke’s death a short while ago.

Clarke visited the United States recently for surgery.

Unconfirmed reports are that he was heading back to Jamaica after the surgery when he died.

Clarke served twice as agriculture minister, first from 1998 to 2007 and again from 2012 until the time of his death.

He was also appointed minister of Local Government and Works in 1995.

Clarke, the Member of Parliament for Central Westmoreland, also served as MP for North East St Elizabeth and has served in several capacities within the PNP.

Before his death he was serving as Vice President Emeritus, a post he held since 2003.
