International reggae band, Rootz Revealerz, is in Jamaica promoting its new song and video entitled Back To The Island – a track which is already gaining traction internationally.

The roots, rock, reggae band was formed in Kingston and is led by the Manning brothers (sons of members of the legendary Abyssinians) and fronted by America-born Chris Mundahl.

The band decided to take a break from an extensive touring schedule and studio recording to focus on Jamaica.

According to the band’s publicist, Karl Durrant, the group is keen on being accepted whole-heartedly in Jamaica and is now poised to increase its local presence.

“The focus for Rootz Revealerz right now is to gain more Jamaican fans. The group has already won millions of fans from Europe, North and South America, where they tour extensively. So we are now focusing on increasing the group’s presence in Jamaica as well as the wider Caribbean,” Durrant said.

Rootz Revealerz was initially a duo formed in 2005 by brothers Josh and Chris Mundahl.

The brothers later transformed their musical efforts into a full band after working with keyboard player Pele Manning.

Pele then introduced them to his brothers Judia Manning, who plays bass; Prince Manning, the group’s drummer; Andrew Manning, who plays keyboard; and Khan Chin, the guitarist.

The Manning brothers have decades worth of touring experience performing with Chaka Demus and Pliers, Black Uhuru, Ini Kamoze, Bunny Wailer, Morgan Heritage, and Beres Hammond.

The band has already produced its own album and has collaborated with artists such as Sizzla Kalonji, Fanton Mojah, Turbulence, Vybz Kartel, and Chaka Demus.

The band will also be teaming up with The Abyssinians later this month, covering festivals and clubs in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and South America.
