Sean Paul visits Buju

Grammy-winning dancehall artiste Sean Paul spent last Sunday visiting incarcerated reggae artiste Buju Banton at the McRae Correctional Facility in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Gimme The Light singer took to social media to announce his visit.

According to Sean Paul, Buju’s message to his fans is simply: “Expect greatness again.”

He also added on Instagram that the singer, born Mark Myrie, is in good spirits, still very focused and is not broken.

Buju is reportedly spending his time keeping fit and healthy, and is also said to be teaching classes to fellow inmates at the facility.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ website, the artiste’s new release date is December 8, 2018.

Buju Banton was arrested in 2009 on cocaine charges, given a mandatory 10-year sentence in 2011, and previously scheduled to be released in 2019.

Days after his conviction, Buju Banton won a Grammy Award for his album Before Dawn. His other albums include ‘Til Shiloh (1995), Inna Heights (1997), and Unchained Spirit (2000).
