Stone Love’s Duane Pow, son of Wee Pow, in critical condition

Veteran sound system owner Winston ‘Wee Pow’ Powell of Stone Love Movements is going through a difficult period this Christmas as his son, Duane Powell is reportedly in a coma and is in critical condition at the University Hospital of the West Indies.

“No one knows what is the cause of the coma. We are praying that he comes out of it, but right now, he is critical,” the senior Powell told Loop Jamaica reporter Claude Mills on Tuesday.

A producer and selector, Duane Pow started a new record label called Strivers a few years ago, and is a former student of St Andrew Technical High School.

He had complained of headaches in the weeks leading up to his hospitalisation last week.

A number of friends and fans of the entertainer have taken to social media to offer prayers and wish him a full recovery.

It’s more sad news for the dancehall industry, following the murder of producer and artiste Cleon ‘Corey Mineral Boss’ Jones in Caymanas Bay on Tuesday morning.
