Stray crocodiles spotted in Greater Portmore

Arising, no doubt, from the heavy and continuous rainfall and flooding across the island, including in St Catherine, there are reports of crocodiles being seen in sections of Greater Portmore in St Catherine.

Indications are that in at least one location, one of the feared reptiles was seen very close to a number of homes.

Consequently, in the affected communities, the weather concerns have been compounded by the fear factor relative to the displacement of the crocodiles, resulting in their now wandering habits.

In response to reports on the developments, the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) has advised residents who see crocodiles in or around their communities, to report any such sightings to the agency, so that trained and appropriate personnel can respond to the challenges.
