Two Bahamians and a Jamaican were arrested by the Marine Police after they seized 700 pounds of ganja and a 22-foot vessel in an operation off the coast of Discovery Bay, St Ann on Friday.
The identities of the men are being withheld, pending further investigations.
Reports are that a team from the Marine Police observed a vessel in the waters near Discovery Bay.
The police signalled for the vessel to be stopped, but the captain did not comply and a chase ensued.
The 22-foot engine boat was subsequently intercepted and searched and 150 parcels of ganja were found and seized.
The drug, which weighed approximately 700 pounds, has an estimated street value of $2.8 million.
The three persons on board the vessel were subsequently arrested.
