Greenwich Town’s music history dates back to the 1950s. Noted musicians such as saxophonist Val Bennett, guitarist Bobby Aitkens and his brother, singer Laurel Aitkens; and singers Jackie Edwards and Owen Gray all lived and performed in the area.
