Koffee wins Best Reggae Grammy for Rapture EP

You can add Grammy Award winner to her accolades as the 19-year-old recording artiste copped the Best Reggae Album Grammy at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Centre, Los Angeles.

Koffee’s Rapture ousted Julian Marley’s As I Am; The Final Battle: Sly & Robbie vs Roots Radics by Sly & Robbie and Roots Radics; Mass Manipulation by Steel Pulse; and More Work To Be Done by Third World in securing the coveted award.

In a brief acceptance speech, Koffee thanked her fellow nominees for “the input they made in the Reggae industry”, and ended by saying “…this one is for all of us, this one is for Reggae, this one is for Jamaica”.

With popular hits like Toast, Rapture, and W, Koffee ― whose real name is Mikayla Simpson ― has definitely “come in like a Rapture”, and have fast become a force in the music industry.
