Shaggy & Patra
REGGAE star Shaggy stole the show at the Club Mega fest in Kampala, Uganda, recently. He was among several international artists slated for the four-
in-one music mega festival, which was organised by Nile Breweries Ltd under its Club Pilsener brand.
According to The East African newspaper, the Jamaican entertainer rose to the occasion when the South African headliner Mafikizolo refused to take the stage in protest for being back- stage too long.
Shaggy, who last performed in Kampala in 2009, was on his fourth visit to the east African state. He belted out tracks from his huge catalogue of hits which included It Wasn’t Me, Angel, Boombastic, Oh Carolina, Summertime, Strength of a Woman, and Hey Sexy Lady.
“Don’t come to Jamaica for food, because I have had the best here. Don’t come for weed, because I have had the best here. Come for sugar cane,” he was quoted as saying, before performing Sugarcane.
The show also featured female dancehall deejay Patra, as well as Nigeria’s Burna Boy.
