65-y-o motorcyclist killed in St Andrew crash

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly man in a collision along Sun Down Crescent in St Andrew early this morning.

Dead is 65-year-old Richard Woodfine, construction worker of Belvedere district, St Andrew.

According the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), Woodfine was riding a Jamco motorcycle, heading towards Waltham Park Road about 2:30 am. On reaching a section of the roadway he reportedly collided with a Toyota Rav 4 that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Both Woodfine and the driver of the Rav 4 sustained multiple injuries and were taken to hospital where Woodfine was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.
