ALVIN ‘Barky’ McCarty, a longtime member of the Bass Odyssey sound system, died Monday at his home in Alexandria, St Ann.
Speaking with the Jamaica Observer yesterday, Bass Odyssey’s CEO Keith Ralford said the team “is shocked and saddened” by McCarty’s sudden passing.
“You were a part of the crew from 1989. From the very first sound box, up to now. No riches, no name. Your contribution is forever written in history,” read a post on the ‘sound’s Facebook page.
Ralford said McCarty who was in his 50s, showed no sign of illness. He last saw him on Saturday.
An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
