American nurse remanded for trying to smuggle illegal amounts of cash through airport

The Jamaican born American nurse who was arrested last week trying to smuggle thousands of US dollars into Jamaica, was further remanded when she appeared before the St. Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday.

Coline Brown, 39, of New Jersey, is facing charges of Possession of Criminal Property, Concealment of Criminal Property, Failure to Declare and Bringing into Jamaica Criminal Property.
During a bail hearing, investigators said they were not opposed to Ms Brown getting bail. However, they explained that she holds dual citizenship and has not handed over her Jamaican passport.
She was given until Friday to hand over the document when Parish Judge Simone Wolfe Reece will consider bail.
Ms. Brown was arrested at Norman Manley International Airport, after her luggage was searched and the cops reportedly found more than US$76,000 or nearly J$10,000,000.
The money was found in a concealed compartment after she allegedly failed to declare the cash.
CTOC investigators told the court that Ms Brown has at least eight properties registered in her name in Jamaica.
