The St James police have launched a high-level probe into the suspected murder of an American visitor whose body was found inside his hotel room with what appeared to be stab wounds in Montego Bay in the parish on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Theodore Walling, who was of a Michigan, United States address.
Reports are that the body of the American was discovered by a worker in a room in which the visitor was staying at Hotel Gloriana along Godfrey Dyer Boulevard.
Upon their arrival, the police discovered the bloodied body lying on a bed.
No motive has so far been established for the killing.
The incident brings to 14 the number of murders reported in St James since the start of the year.
