Brother of popular radio personality shot dead in downtown Kingston 

A brother of popular media personality, Radio Jamaica’s Wesley ‘Burgerman’ Burger, was shot dead by gunmen in downtown Kingston on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Radcliffe Burger, otherwise known as ‘Guyo’ or ‘Crazy’.

Preliminary reports suggest that about 3pm, Burger was walking between East and Duke streets in downtown Kingston, when he was pounced upon by gunmen who shot him.

The attackers then fled the scene.

The injured man later succumbed to his injuries.

His brother, Wesley Burger, reported the news of his brother’s demise to his friends and followers on Facebook on Sunday morning. He also denounced the killings occurring across the country, and called for it to be brought to an end.

“My Big Brother Radcliff Burger… aka Guyo… aka Crazy shot and killed downtown on Saturday, December 28. Instead of me planning annual birthday celebration January, I now have to plan his funeral… Oh God. The crime and violence must come to an end. Too much senseless killings… Sleep well me big bredda…,” Burgerman wrote.

Following his post, there has been an outpouring of support for the media personality in his time of grief.

One Facebook user wrote: “I’m so sorry for your loss Burger. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this awful time. Why Jamaica, why?”

Another commented: “Jah know Guyo (Radcliffe Burger). I never see him upset, him always a laugh and a help out wherever he can. Rest well mi G. Condolences Burgerman.”

“Good morning Burger, I am just reading your message. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your brother, especially in such a tragic way. We will hold you and your family up in our prayers,” commented another social media user.

Meanwhile, the police are conducting investigations into the fatal shooting incident.
