Chaos in Half-Way Tree as man is cut down in brazen attack

A team of police investigators is now in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew following a brazen late afternoon attack in which a man was shot and killed by unknown assailants and one of the alleged attackers was shot and injured by the police, on Friday afternoon.

Three other persons, said to have been bystanders, also reportedly sustained gunshot wounds in the incident.

Police sources told Loop News that about 5:00 p.m., persons doing business on Constant Spring Road opposite Pavilion Mall suddenly heard several explosions and saw what appeared to be men running in the area with guns in hand.

Police sources reported that the attack appeared to have emanated from a contract killing.

Amid frantic scampering for cover by members of the public, police personnel in the area reportedly intervened and one of the alleged attackers was shot and wounded and held by the police. He is now hospitalised under police guard.
