MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A police constable who was knocked unconscious when he, three of his colleagues and two prisoners were involved in a crash on the Pepper main road in St Elizabeth this afternoon, has regained consciousness.
He is reportedly among the three police officers still at the Mandeville Regional Hospital where they were taken for medical attention.
A female officer and two prisoners have been released from hospital.
Police say Monday’s incident occurred about 2:00pm when the Mitsubishi pick-up truck in which the four constables and the two prisoners were travelling from Mandeville to Santa Cruz overturned.
The police have attributed wet road conditions as the cause for the crash.
