The bleaching cream trade suffered a major blow on Tuesday when detectives seized 78,000 tubes of cream from an establishment in Kingston during an operation which lasted seven hours.
Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch (C-TOC) detectives arrested and charged one man with breaches of the Pharmacy, Food and Drug, and Customs laws.
According to the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, some of the creams seized are not registered with the Ministry of Health, while others cannot be sold without a prescription.
