A curfew has been imposed in Trench Town and Admiral Town in Kingston where a number of killings have occurred since the start of the year.
The curfew began at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 08 and will continue until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10. The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:
NORTH: Along Gem Road from Maxfield Avenue to Greenwich Street;
EAST: Along Greenwich Street from Gem Road onto Eight Street continuing along Harris Street and Raphael Avenue;
SOUTH: Along Eight Street, Harris Street and Raphael Avenue from Greenwich Street to Maxfield Avenue;
WEST: Along Maxfield Avenue from the southern boundary to Gem Road.
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorized by the ground commander.
