Dunn’s River Falls still Jamaican: UDC denies selling out to Chinese

The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has dismissed reports that it has sold the very popular Dunns River Falls and Park in Ocho Rios, St Ann to Chinese investors.

Reports have been circulating on social media that the attraction has been disposed of.

Concerns raised by the National Democratic Movement (NDM) served to fuel the speculation, as the movement, in response to the social media assertions, called on the Government to state what the true situation is in respect of the signature tourist attraction.

Speaking on radio on Friday afternoon, General Manager of the UDC, Desmond Malcolm, said there is no truth to the reports of Dunn’s River being sold.

He said the UDC remains fully in charge of the facility, and is in the process of increasing the attractions there, especially in relation to children, which has been inadequate.
