Eight detainees are now on the run after escaping from the Hunts Bay police station.

The remaining escapees from top, left to right are: Shavar Smith o/c ‘Boy Boy’; Maldine Kacheif Lemmon o/c ‘Mallo’; Michael Orlando Ellis, Nicholas Anthony Petrie o/c ‘Nico’ and ‘Game Cock’; Leroy Burrell o/c ‘Calibre’, ‘Thick Man’ and ‘Baby King’; Rojae Christopher Gaynor o/c ‘Screechy’, and Kenouir Holness o/c ‘Oliver’ or ‘Grimmy’.

It’s understood that the prisoners escaped by digging a hole in a wall of the cell block.

A major manhunt has been launched.

Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, head of the Constabulary Communication Unit, has confirmed the incident.
