HEALTH ISSUES FORCED FRANKIE PAUL AND PERCY SLEDGE OUT OF THE MONTREAL REGGAE FESTIVAL, AUGUST 15-17!

NEWS coming out of the French-Canadian city of Montreal has indicated that Jamaican reggae act Frankie Paul is ill and has been pulled from the line-up of this year’s staging of the Montreal International Reggae Festival.

The event is set for the Old Port of Montreal from August 15- 17.

Frankie Paul, who is known for his hits Sarah, Worries in the Dance and Pass the Tu Sheng Peng, joins soul legend Percy Sledge, who has also been forced to withdraw from the festival due to health issues.

The organisers of the event have not divulged the details surrounding the nature of the illness of both artists.

The Montreal International Reggae Festival is one of the growing international summer festivals which feature a strong line-up. Although not as popular as some of its European counterparts, it has been building a name for itself over the years.

This year the reggae component of the festival will feature the likes of Etana, Maxi Priest, Kiprich, QQ, Demarco, Sean Paul, Sanchez, Luciano, I-Octane and reggae’s first lady, Marcia Griffiths, who is celebrating her 50th anniversary in the business.
