Hotel worker killed in motor vehicle crash

HANOVER, Jamaica — A bartender who was driving a motorcycle to work at a hotel, died Wednesday morning as a result of injuries he sustained in a head-on collision along the Providence main road, near Green Island in Hanover.

A pillion rider who also sustained multiple injuries has been hospitalised.

The dead man has been identified as 20- year- old Darren Wilson formerly of North Hill, Hanover.

According to people claiming to have witnessed the collision, Wilson was driving the motorcycle toward Green Island, about 8:00 am, when he slammed into an oncoming vehicle after overtaking a Toyota Coaster bus.

Wilson died at the scene.
