JCF makes ‘largest gun haul in 4 years; over 100 firearms confiscated 

The Island security forces have seized a total of 104 firearms in the last 35 days, the largest number of weapons seized over a one-month and five-day period in the last four years.

Jamaica Constabulary Force on its social media page said the weapons were confiscated between January 1 and February 5.

The police high command said this is the highest number of guns seized by security forces when compared to weapons seized in the corresponding period over the last four years.

In one of the seizures made by local authorities over the last week, a total of twenty 9mm pistols and 40 magazines were found in shipments at the cargo section of Sangster International Airport.

And even following that level of success police In another operation, in early February, one man was shot dead and 13 firearms were seized by the police in the parish of Trelawny. The raid took place in the Florence Hall section of the parish.

In another operation that made headlines police seized nine firearms, including a rifle, during a major operation in the East Kingston division in early January.
