KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Police have reported the seizure of an AK47 rifle and eight 7.62 rounds on Melody Drive, Kingston 4 early Sunday (April 6).
The Kingston Central Police say that about 2:00 am lawmen were on patrol in the area when explosions were heard. During subsequent checks in the community, the officers reportedly observed a man, who on their approach dropped an object and ran.
The item was retrieved and found to be the high-powered weapon.
No arrest was made in the seizure as investigations continue, the police say.
