Motorcyclist, pedestrian are newest road fatalities 

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The number of road fatalities grew yesterday after two people died in separate traffic incidents in St Elizabeth and Clarendon.

The two have been identified as Michael Jackson, 49, of Caanan Heights, Clarendon, and Clive James, a 43-year-old construction worker of Sandy Bay district in St Elizabeth.

According to the May Pen police, Jackson was killed about 11:45 am Saturday, when he was allegedly hit by a Nissan Sunny motor car as he attempted to cross the Bustamante Highway in Clarendon.

In the meantime, the Pedro Plains police report that about 9:35 pm, James was driving his motorcycle along the Pedro Plains main road in St Elizabeth, when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at hospital.

The police say both cases are being investigated.
