Murder Monday in T&T 

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (Trinidad Express) — A 61-year-old San Fernando man was one of three men gunned down in north Trinidad in separate incidents on Monday.

The victims were identified as Patrick Leon, of Cocoyea; Aaron Lord, of San Juan, and Shaquille Joseph, of Morvant.

Police said Leon was shot after he dropped off passengers at a funeral at Arima.

According to reports, around 3:45 pm Leon was driving at Mount Zion Avenue, Pinto Road, after dropping off mourners at the Mount Zion Spiritual Baptist Church when loud explosions were heard.

Leon realised he was shot in the lower body.

He was taken to the Arima District Health Facility, and was later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope where he died hours later.

Meanwhile, about 8:00 pm Lord, 29, was killed after he received a phone call.

His relatives told police that he was at home at Laventille Road, Febeau Village, when he went outside while speaking on the phone.

Gunshots rang out as Lord was shot several times.

He was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital (PoSGH) where he died while receiving treatment.

Shortly before 10:00 pm Joseph and a teenager were shot at by gunmen in a vehicle.

Joseph, 20, and Frank O’Brien, 15, were liming at Marie Road, Morvant when a white vehicle pulled alongside them.

The occupants of the vehicle fired several shots, which struck Joseph and O’Brien. The vehicle sped off.

Both victims were taken to the PoSGH where Joseph was pronounced dead on arrival. O’Brien was treated and warded.

All three bodies were taken to the Forensic Sciences Centre.
