The person of interest in relation to the murder of 41-year-old Trelawny farmer, Garcia Williams, otherwise called ‘Julie’, who was found last Monday on her yam farm in the parish with a chop wound to her neck, remains on the run.
The Trelawny police are seeking a man with whom Williams had a common-law relationship, for questioning in connection with her murder.
Amid the police probe, it is understood that some residents are seeking to take justice into their own hands in relation to the matter.
Reports are that shortly after 9am last Monday, Williams was found in a pool of blood on her farm in Farm Town, Wait-a-Bit, with a gash to her neck.
She had been reportedly chased and chopped with a machete by her attacker, who is suspected to have been the man with whom she had a common-law relationship.
Williams was reportedly involved in a heated argument with her eventual attacker before she was chased and chopped.
