PM hiding from Ja’s problems

General secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party Dr Horace Chang

KINGSTON, Jamaica – General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party Dr Horace Chang says evidence is mounting that Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller is hiding from the problems of Jamaica.

“It is not the first time that the Prime Minister has retreated from the problems of Jamaica, as a matter of fact the Prime Minister will go down as the most absent in the history of Jamaica even Michael Manley in his illness was more visible” Chang said in a release today.

“The prime minister has not had a proper interview in years. She must speak to the people especially the many young bright but humble Jamaicans who cannot find jobs. As a comparison, the leader of the Opposition is always present when the people of Jamaica are in need,” he added.

Chang argued that the prime minister clearly has no solutions for the people of Jamaica.

“After 59 billion dollars in new taxes over their 4 years; youth unemployment is at a record high, murderers are stalking the nation and there is no growth on the horizon. No other government in the world has placed such a burden of austerity on their people,” he said.

Chang contended that “the PNP under Portia Simpson-Miller has brought more pain and suffering on the people of Jamaica than any other government since Michael Manley.

“We are not surprised that the prime minister is hiding from the people of Jamaica and we know that when her day of reckoning comes, the people of Jamaica would have shown her that her time is over”.
