A Detective Constable suspected of being involved in a major drug network, has been arrested by the Major Organised Crime and Anti-corruption agency (MOCA).
The Constable, a 20-year veteran of the Police Force, was arrested on Sunday morning during a sting operation along the Palisadoes Main Road in Kingston.
It’s understood that MOCA investigators intercepted the Constable’s vehicle and seized more than 19 parcels containing ganja.
A large quantity of US currency was also allegedly seized in the vehicle.
Investigators theorised that the Constable was travelling to the Norman Manley International Airport to drop off the shipment of ganja.It’s understood that MOCA moved in on the policeman after placing him under surveillance.
His St Andrew home was also raided as part of a drug trafficking and money laundering investigation.
