Popular promoter gunned down in Montego Bay

A popular Montego Bay events promoter was cut down in a hail of bullets by unknown assailants during a daring attack in the second city on Monday afternoon.

The deceased is 47-year-old Barrington ‘Bounty’ Smith of a Montego Bay, St James address.

Reports are that about 2pm, Smith was standing along a section of Union Street, Montego Bay when he was pounced upon and shot multiple times by unknown assailants who alighted from a motor car which sped onto the scene.

The men then returned to the motor car and sped away from the scene.

The Montego Bay CIB are investigating.

Monday’s killing came quickly on the heels of a double murder in Montego Bay last week.

The two victims were Michael Hill of Old Harbour, St Catherine and Kemar Hastead of Norwood, St James.
