Probe launched into ‘altercation’ between cops and man in Portland

The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) has launched an investigation into an incident that was captured on video showing a group of police officers trying to apprehend a man in Portland on Thursday.

Reports are that lawmen went to the parish to target a number of rogue transport operators when they were confronted by protestors.

Sources in the area report that during the operation a male protestor tried to intervene as the police attempted to seize the vehicle of a particular taxi operator.

Another source claimed the man was using his phone to video the police when he was reportedly assaulted by a female officer.

Part of the video showed that a tussle developed between the male and the officers. The video also showed three officers trying to restrain the man.

Other protestors who were close by could be heard accusing the police of trying to abuse the man.
