KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Rastafarian, who admitted to stealing a bicycle recently, has earned himself a three-month prison stay for his deed.
Godfrey Smith was sentenced by Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey after pleading guilty in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court last Friday.
But before entering the plea, Smith seemed hesitant when questioned by Pusey.
“Yuh charged for stealing the bicycle,” Pusey said to the suspect, “are you guilty?”
Smith didn’t respond, and with the complainant being absent Pusey offered to set the case for trial.
Having thought over the matter, Smith later entered a guilty plea and was sentenced.
