St James boy dies in freak accident on school compound 

A seven-year-old student of Anchovy Primary School in St James died on Tuesday evening after being mowed down by a reversing vehicle on the school compound.

The deceased has been identified as Easton Stapleton, a grade two student.

Reports reaching Loop News are that about 4:00 pm, Easton was struck by the car which was being driven by a teacher who was in the process of leaving the compound at the time.

The child reportedly died on the spot and the distraught teacher abandoned the car and ran to the staff room where she was assisted by her colleagues.

The matter was reported to the police who have commenced their investigation.
