Tension in West Kingston after gun attack

Police say they have increased their presence in the Kingston Western Division following news that tensions between criminal gangs is again threatening to escalate.

This follows the gun attack against two persons over the weekend.

The injured persons, who are now in hospital, have been identified as two males, ages 53 and 25-year-old.

“The reports we received is that at about 12:30 am on Saturday, a group of people were standing close to Chestnut Lane when two men walked up and opened fire,” Superintendent Chambers told Loop News.

The attacks have since left residents in the area on edge.

Police have however warned that they will leave no stones unturned as they go after persons responsible for the attacks.
