KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former minister of National Security in the last Jamaica Labour Party administration, Dwight Nelson believes it was the good work of police investigators and the team from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) that ultimately led to the verdict of guilty in the murder trail involving entertainer Vybz Kartel and three others.
Neslon speaking to OBSERVER ONLINE said while he will not delve into the details of the case, it was obvious that the police worked closely, as they should, with the DPP and were therefore able to get the verdict they wanted.
“I publicly congratulate the police for providing to the DPP, the evidence which formed the basis of their presentation to the court and which ultimately led to successful prosecutions,” Nelson commented to OBSERVER ONLINE.
He further stated: ‘The office of the DPP can only build cases on the material given to them by the investigators and in this instance the police did well in the provision of that information and the DPP team did the rest in a competent and timely manner.”
