Three killed, two injured in Guyana vehicular crash

GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) – At least three people, including a three-year-old girl, were killed and two others injured after a car ploughed into them in a Guyana village on Wednesday night, police said.

The authorities said that the 18-year-old driver had been detained after he was cornered by residents when he fled the scene.

Those killed were three-year-old Shamin Cort and two sisters identified as Juanita Bagot,17, Tabita ‘Latoya’ Bagot, 19. The three relatives were killed a few metres from their home.

The two injured people have been admitted to hospital.
