UPDATE: Man held in jet-ski killing of tourist

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The Westmoreland Police have taken a man into custody in connection with the death of American tourist Thomas Torres Castillo, who died after he was hit by a jet-ski in the resort town of Negril on Tuesday.

 Commanding officer in charge of Westmoreland, Superintendent Carole McKenzie told OBSERVER ONLINE Wednesday afternoon that the man is being interviewed to ascertain whether or not he was the driver of the jet-ski involved in the fatal accident.

Castillo was swimming near the hotel where he was a guest when he was hit. The driver of the jet-ski did not stop.

An injured Castillo was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
