Victims of illegal St Andrew land sale to contact police

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Detectives assigned to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) yesterday renewed their call for victims of a scheme in which Government and privately owned land in Dallas Mountain in St Andrew was being illegally sold and distributed to contact them.

People who were allotted lots and/or have paid monies to secure lots are again being asked to contact Detective Inspector Andrew Phinn at C-TOC’s Fraud Squad by calling 948-5906 or 922-5587 or visiting the C-TOC office at 34 Duke Street Kingston.

The Fraud Squad is investigating reports that hundreds of people paid over monies towards the cutting of roads and cleaning plots of land allocated to them or to secure an interest in obtaining lots.

However, it has since come to light that no authorisation was granted to anyone or institution to undertake any such activity.
