THE thanksgiving service for dancehall singer Wayne ‘Sleng Teng’ Smith will be held at the Faith United Brethren in Christ Church, 4 Harwood Drive, Washington Boulevard in St Andrew on Saturday.
The ceremony is scheduled for a 12 noon start.
Interment follows in the Meadowrest Memorial Gardens in St Catherine.
According to Smith’s son, Tidal, his father’s autopsy was inconclusive.
“They [the doctors] couldn’t determine what was wrong with him. They are now awaiting a blood test result,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Hailing from Waterhouse in Kingston, Smith started his career in 1980 with producer Lloyd ‘King Jammys’ James who produced Under mi Sleng Teng four years later.
He died on Monday, February 17 at the Kingston Public Hospital after complaining of stomach pains.
Smith died leaving six children.
