Woman arrested in NY death of 91-y-o Jamaican

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A woman has been arrested following the killing of a 91-year-old Jamaican man who died from injuries he sustained after robbers invaded his home in Brooklyn, New York.

According to media reports, 45-year-old Suzette Troutman, who is now in custody, took care of Waldiman Thompson and his 100-year-old wife Ethlin.

Troutman was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and other charges connected to the burglary that resulted in Waldiman’s death.

Troutman — the second person arrested in connection to the robbery — was hired two years ago, helping Thompson and his wife with shopping and other housekeeping chores, according to reports .

Her 27-year-old nephew, Dwayne Blackwood is also facing the same charges as Troutman.
According to local law enforcement, Blackwood’s cell phone placed him at the scene. Two other individuals are also being sought in connection to the home invasion.

Reports are that the Thompsons were in their house in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighbourhood about 3:15 pm when four men broke in.

The alleged robbers tied up the couple and ransacked the house.

The elderly woman was able to free herself and alert the police; however her husband was found bound and unresponsive inside their home.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
