Woman Arrested In US Visa Scam 

A woman who allegedly scammed ten men who were trying to obtain US visas has been arrested.Maureen Brown of  Montego Bay, St. James was arrested by detectives from the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch(C-TOC) and charged with obtaining money by false pretense and forgery.

It’s reported that on April 22, ten men from Portland visited the US Embassy in Kingston with forged job letters seeking visas.
They were detained by security personnel at the embassy and investigations revealed they had paid large sums of money to Miss Brown, who operated an illegal overseas job recruitment centre in Montego Bay.
She was subsequently arrested and appeared in court she pleaded guilty to obtaining money by false pretense and forgery.
She will be sentenced on Monday.  The Police are asking anyone who may have paid her to contact C-TOC.
