The mutilated body of a woman was found in the district of Savage Pen in St Andrew on Saturday morning, August 3.
She has not yet been identified.
The police reported that about 10:00 a.m., residents stumbled on the body and summoned personnel from the Gordon Town Police Station.
When the cops arrived on the scene, they found the woman’s body with several chop wounds.
The police said preliminary investigations point to the murder as having likely occurred as early as August 1.
