60-y-o man accused of shooting child hospitalized after mob attack


The 60-year-old man identified as the suspect behind the fatal shooting of the six-year-old girl in Text Lane, Central Kingston on Monday has been apprehended.

Reports are that the man is in hospital nursing several injuries after he was held and beaten by angry residents but was later rescued by the police.

He was later taken to a hospital where he was admitted under police guard, sources are reporting.

Reports from sources in the area are that the man reportedly made a homemade gun and was at premises on Text Lane testing the weapon when it went off and struck young Timora McCullum.

The child was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The incident has since triggered shock and anger in the area.
