JCF probes gun video involving entertainer

Assistant Superintendent Dahlia Garrick, head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), is confirming that there is an “active investigation” to determine whether a firearm seen in a video involving a popular dancehall artiste and a scantily-clad woman is real.

The video, which has been making the rounds on social media, shows a swimsuit-wearing female prancing and cavorting with what appears to be a firearm before handing it gingerly to the deejay.

“We are aware of the video and there is now an active investigation,” Garrick told News reporter Claude Mills.

On Monday, the Firearm Licensing Authority had indicated that there was no active investigation of the popular deejay, saying “the FLA will only conduct investigations into persons who are licensed firearm holders.”

The CCU head said the investigation process is thorough and will unearth all evidence on the matter.

“The matter will be fully investigated and fully ventilated,” Garrick vowed.
